deeper than the first impression makes u think...

Well done! A very original and cool tribute to Adam Fulton.

It was all a little bit weird though. Im sure it wasnt your intention and that u truly wanted to make a descent tribute to livecorpse, but i cant help but feel it came across as some sort of parody. The happy music with the motivating lyrics in combination with the very serious and tragic event that occured Adam Fulton.

However, the perhaps unintended mood it created was brilliant. Maybe it comes across a little bit ironic to some viewers, it also comes across like a truly honest and good lesson. Yes, always look on the bright side of life indeed. And although livecorpse didnt manage to do this, in the very tragic circumstances, it should inspire all the viewers to not make the same mistake and take lessons out of this.

On a short note i wanted to say that the technical aspect of this movie was quite average. The drawings and animation were not very impressive, yet the music was extremely well picked.

And perhaps the drawings and animation may not be the best, the atmosphere, mood, moral and emotional value of this flash were all very impressive.... And that is something that goes beyond creating simple, entertaining flash and goes into creative and good film making.

thanks! yeah most of the tributes aren't entertaining and that's why i made mine like this. AND it was supposed to be happy i intened everything you said. ALL MY FLASHES MUST HAVE A TWIST! AH HA HA

pretty kewl

Nice video, although I wasnt really sure what was going on. It seemd a little bit like small meteors crashing down.

The thing was a little bit too abstract and simple to be really interesting for me, but i can understand why some may consider this art or whatever.

Try to show more what is going on or what you are intending to achieve towards the viewer next time (without making it too obvious, ofcourse).

Still this is different and i like the concept of the somehow peaceful video with the mysterious music, so all in all good job!

very average

What can i say about this third episode of this series? It seems like you are trying to hard to impress the viewer with all kind of different scenes that dont form a complete movie all together.

A big mistake in my eyes is that you simply dismissed the happenings of episode 1 and 2 as a 'dream'. You are basically saying: No that was just playing around, now the action really starts. And this is such a pity, since episode 1 was in my eyes the best sprite movie on newgrounds.

The plot of this movie was quite poor. Luigi dreams about the future, decides to rescue his brother and then Mario goes and takes revenge alone? I liked the situation from the earlier episodes much better where Luigi was the main character and took revenge with all his friends. There are a thousand flashes starring mario out there and now a very good one focusses on Luigi and u decide to change it on the last moment and make Mario the star again.

The music you used included all the big soundtracks today. Spiderman 2, Lotr etc.. Not either was this very original nor creative, also it gave the entire thing some sort of deja vu feeling.

Ofcourse the graphics and animation were awesome, but like i said 1000 times before, graphics and animation alone do not make a good movie. It should be combined with a good plot or concept, a cool atmosphere, good fitting music/dialogue etc etc. I found this movie lacking in all those areas so i cant help but say im quite dissapointed in this episode.

But who knows, it seems like you are going to make 100 episodes with this series so maybe the later ones will be better and more interesting.

original and refreshing

Very good flash that is well put together.

Im so glad that you took time to come up with a storyline and that u managed to create the right atmosphere. With this being done very well, the lack of animation isnt as annoying anymore.

Your drawing style is one of the best iv seen on newgrounds so far. Although the entire animation was done mainly with green tones, the work of shadows and light were superb. It reminds me a little bit like comic book artists Todd Mcfarlane and Jim Lee. I bet u (used to) read comics alot and learned much from those artists.

The music was also awesome. I think its better this way without voice acting. Cause if you added voice acting, some form of lyp synching would be needed too (otherwise it would like kinda weird) and that in turn would spoil the still images.

The only main flaw in this animation is the length. It is over so quickly and that is really a pity, because with a good storyline you are creating it will take like 50 episodes to end it. Please make it a little bit longer next time so it will be also more enjoyable for the viewer and give him the chance to get sucked in to the story a bit more.

Anyway keep up the great work and im looking forward to your upcomming work.

Thank you very much for the in depth review and comments. I am very flattered with where you see my influences coming from. I do read alot of comics and love the medium and the two artists you mentioned have been huge influences on my work. I also love Tim Bradstreet's work as well.

There was a lot you picked up on that impresses me about your attention. Many of the things we are doing (and that you mentioned) others do not understand yet and it is great to find someone who appreciates the subtlties as well as the overall comic.

As for the length, we do plan on making longer episodes beginning with episode 4. Thank you again for your review and stick with us, it will get even better.

superb

Its kinda weird but i came to discover that sometimes artists with not a remarkable drawing talent can make the most beautiful things. It is like: the time they dont spend in creating the visual aspect, they put in the storyline, feel and originality of the movie. You are undoubtably one of them. For the spoiled unartistic childish eye of some viewers this may be nothing more than some shit to blam. For others, including myself, this is quite a work of art. I love the details you put in the movie, like the 'evil incorporated' and the commercial on the bus. Simple, yet very effective. And then there is also the very cool kinda 'noir' style this movie has. The experiment you did to make the entire thing with the smallest brush did work out very well. The city, the boy, the animation... it all gave the entire thing a depressing and cool look. The music fitted perfectly with it all and i must say this is actually the most original piece iv seen this month. Keep up the good work and im looking forward to see more from you.

awesome

First of all im a total Spirited Away fanatic. I must have seen the movie about a billion times, i like it that much. But being a fan of the inspiration of a flashmovie doesnt nescesairely make the flashmovie good too. Fortunately, this is a very good flashmovie and you didnt screw up. True, it might only have 1 background and some tweens and guide layers as its fundaments, but the emotional journey, the entire feel and the beautifully slowpaced tempo the entire thing is presented make it stand out from most other stuff on newgrounds. Original and simple, yet it takes someone with good cinematic views and feels to be able to create something like this. Keep it up!

pretty good,

Nice idea, cool graphics and pretty cute atmosphere. Indeed its a pity its only so short. But the message (whatever it is) came across. Maybe u should consider doing another flash featuring this robot which will be a little bit longer. Im sure u will make something great outa it.
